Success for Hochiki at FireExpo

A Hochiki Europe (UK) product story

Enthusiastic response to Hochiki's expanded product line-up.

Hochiki Europe was delighted with the enthusiastic response to its new product line-up and stand from visitors at this year's FireExpo.

Seven new products that all aim to expand customer choice and provide complete fire protection solutions were unveiled at the show.

Marketing manager Yasmin Butt says: "There was interest for all the new products.

Visitors were especially interested in the savings to be achieved from our new 'Smart Fix' modules.

"Some were really surprised by the depth of our new product range and we encountered a great deal of interest in the voice evacuation system.

They also commented on the distinct advantages to be gained from the CHQ-POM powered output module." Already a leading manufacturer of quality fire detectors for commercial and industrial applications, Hochiki has introduced FIREvac - a new low cost, high quality modular voice alarm system, designed to simplify the provision of a fully BS-5839-8 compliant voice alarm system.

Integration with an existing fire detection system is simple as the FIREvac can be added by way of a module such as the CHQ-DRC dual relay controller.

FIRElink is a new air sampling system packed with advanced technology to provide high sensitivity smoke detection.

This means it can detect the very smallest amount of smoke in environments such as computer rooms and clean rooms.

With its ability to differentiate between smoke and dust the system is also suitable for a wide range of 'dirty' environments including paper/flour mills, generator areas and furnace rooms.

Using the latest semiconductor laser, electronic components and manufacturing techniques FIRElink can be supplied and installed at a significantly lower whole-life cost than alternative high sensitivity systems.

Installer choice and easy installation are the key benefits of the new 'Smart Fix' range of CHQ Modules and accessories.

Each module is supplied as a complete enclosure; comprising a self-contained PCB module, back plate and clear lid with gasket.

For installations requiring higher Ingress Protection (up to IP65) the range includes a unique CHQ Back Box which features 10 individual glanded cable knock-outs for the most demanding cable requirements.

Building on the popularity of its emitter/receiver infra-red beam smoke detectors Hochiki has improved the already robust and dependable design by adding a number of innovations to its latest SPC-ET beam detector.

This new product has automatic signal strength adjustment for an easier and quicker set-up.

The SPC-ET Emitter can be directly powered from the zone or loop, reducing cabling costs and time.

For greater flexibility the user can select either a latching or non-latching fault relay design.

The SPC-ET detector has 1,500 sq m coverage.

The new IFD range of Flame Detectors has three models - IFD-E for standard IR3 detection, the IFD-E(IS) an intrinsically safe version and the IFD-E(EXD) an explosion-proof model.

Designed for use where open flaming fires may be expected and responding to the light from flames during combustion, these detectors are able to discriminate between flames and other light sources by responding only to particular optical wavelengths and flame flicker frequencies.

This means the detectors avoid false alarms due to such factors as flickering sunlight.

Hochiki's world-class module range has been strengthened even further with the introduction of the CHQ-POM powered output module.

Described by the company as an ingenious device, it can supply a nominal 24Vd.c.

at various user-selectable current levels from 2 to 32mA (in increments of 2mA).

It is small enough to be added to other third-party devices, which means a whole new range of equipment can be added to an ESP protocol driven loop.

A further new introduction is the analogue addressable HFP FIREline fire alarm control panel system.

The four models in the range include a one to two loop panel, one to four loop panel, one to eight loop panel and an active repeater panel.

Developed for sale in specific export territories the HFP FIREline panel is not be available in the UK.
