New sizes for roller bearing system
Guideline, Hoerbiger-Origa's highly successful aluminium profile roller bearing system, has been expanded to include new sizes and options to address an even wider scope of applications.
Guideline, Hoerbiger-Origa's highly successful aluminium profile roller bearing system, has been expanded to include new sizes and options to address an even wider scope of applications.
With two new rail sizes, 35 and 45mm, the series now has a direct load carrying capacity range from 5900N - 43,800N.
While this represents an increase of 250%, the increase in bending moment capacity is an impressive 600% - making Guideline an excellent choice for the most demanding applications.
The lightweight and compact system has an extruded aluminium rail which houses precision ground, hardened steel guide tracks.
Unlike traditional rigid steel slideways, these are tolerant of irregularities in the mounting sub-straight and do not necessitate a precision ground surface.
The roller cassettes are fitted with multiple rollers capable of carrying high loads in all directions.
These are adjustable to suit the requirements of individual applications, and also allows for re-adjustment, which can substantially extend the service life in some applications.
Compared to re-circulating bearing systems, Guideline offers very low friction (ca.
ć=0.001) extremely smooth running characteristics, quiet operation at speeds up to 10m/sec and high acceleration capabilities (up to 40m/s/s).
To enhance the durability of Guideline, wipers with exchangeable felt inlays are now integrated into the roller cassettes.
Depending on the relative cleanliness or contamination of the application, the wipers will provide in excess of 6000km of travel, before needing to be washed or replaced.
For applications in which the roller cassette is moved manually or is required to be clamped in position, e.g tooling applications, a carriage locking mechanism is available.
With the option of either lever or rotating knob operation, the mechanism exerts no load on the guidance system and provides for extremely easy adjustment of the carriage position.
Now available in rail sizes 15, 20, 25, 35 and 45 mm, the system is supplied fully assembled in any length between 300mm and 4000mm.
Alternatively customers may stock individual roller cassettes and standard rails, which may be subsequently cut to suit individual applications.
For longer lengths it is now possible to butt join rails, utilising a precision keyed join, which enables two rails to be easily connected together.
The connection has no effect on system performance, most importantly, shock loads are not imparted on the bearings when crossing the join.
Stainless steel versions are also available to meet the demand for non-corrosive applications e.g food and beverage production, pharmaceuticals, etc.
