Hoerbiger-Origa's range of electric drives linear motion stages and slides are now available from Routeco, a leading distributor of industrial automation and control products.

The new addition to Routeco's product portfolio is available throughout the UK, from their network of 21 branches, complementing the existing offering of Rockwell Automation's electronic motion control equipment.

"OEMs are increasingly looking to source components as complete kits of parts for each machine they build, as it is far more efficient and cost effective than dealing with different suppliers for each part", says Kelvin Kirby of Routeco.

"By offering a complete range of electromechanical motion and electronic control equipment, we are helping OEMs improve their service whilst reducing the costs to customers".

The service available from Routeco does not stop at just being able to supply the product, as they also provide added value through their technical support and specialised expertise.

This is available through a dedicated technical support helpdesk, sales engineers regionally located across the country, consultant design engineers at the head office in Milton Keynes, plus the expertise of a team of motion control specialists.

Hoerbiger-Origa's UK Managing Director Ray Barnes explains why the arrangement with Routeco was struck.

"The fundamentals of engineering and design are continually evolving.

Users tend not to want to hold spares, but need to be able to source them quickly.

As today's components tend to be highly technical they also may need technical support assistance to select the most appropriate kit and to install it correctly.

"By working closely with Routeco we are able to meet this need efficiently and effectively, particularly within the OEM sector.

In order to meet the special requirements of other sectors we also distribute through Wyko to the after (MRO) market and Economatics, which has particular expertise in pneumatics and automation".
