Pneumatic cylinders provide relief on the railways
Hoerbiger-Origa rodless pneumatic cylinders are driving the automatic doors on the latest generation toilet cubicles for trains, providing easy accesses for wheelchair bound passengers.
The design details are such that the Starline can support not only high vertical loads but also high side loads and turning moments, yet can maintain accurate positioning.
"Starline complements the existing range of modular guides available with the OSP range", says Ray Barnes, Managing Director of Hoerbiger-Origa.
"In keeping with our company philosophy, Starline's mounting dimensions are configured to ensure a high degree of interchangeability with other OSP actuators, both pneumatic and electric".
As with all OSP actuators there are numerous possibilities to mount multiple actuators in multiplex configurations, which provide for maximum system flexibility and load support capability - this offers particular benefits for handling and multi-axis applications, in which the actuators are integral structural elements of the system.
Hoerbiger-Origa has made the Starline guidance cylinder available in diameters of 16, 25, 32, 40 and 50mm.
Stroke lengths of up to 3700mm are offered as standard, with longer strokes available on request.
The maximum direct load carrying capacity for the 50mm size is 7500N and bending moments up to 580Nm can be absorbed.
Speed is dependent on the drive selection, but can be as high as 5m/s if required.
Optionally Starline is also available with adjustable stops and integrated shock absorbers.
The new OSP-P with Starline guidance features an integrated scraper system and integrated grease nipples, ensuring a long service life for the system.
This means it is well suited for demanding applications where extremely high loads require smooth motion and precision positioning.
An extensive accessory range with fastenings, centre supports, and sensors compliments the modular Starline programme. Request a free brochure from Hoerbiger-Origa ...
