Rod cylinder redesigned
Hoerbiger-Origa has redesigned its AZ piston rod cylinder, available in profile tube or tie-rod versions, double acting, and with the option of through piston rod operation.
Hoerbiger-Origa has redesigned its AZ piston rod cylinder to offer both improved performance and a much higher level of configurability.
With the new AZ, users not only get a high-performance product that is exactly tailored to the precise needs of the application, they also get an extremely cost-competitive solution.
Improvements over the original AZ include an all-new barrel profile offering a smoother surface and a generally more aesthetically pleasing design.
The piston has also been redesigned; the aluminium construction provides increased durability and performance.
Piston rods are also available with either male or female threaded rod ends for greater flexibility.
The redesigned cylinder has extremely low friction characteristics, which results in lower breakout pressure, smoother running even at low speeds, faster acceleration, and reduced seal wear for exceptional long-term reliability.
New for the AZ series is the inclusion of T-slots for magnetic switches, the T-slots ensure that the switches do not protrude beyond the height of the slot, and have been designed to make it easy to insert the switches and to adjust their position for accurate operation.
Further improving accuracy in use, Hoerbiger-Origa has incorporated a new design of adjusting screw for end cushioning, offering easier adjustment of deceleration at the end of stroke.
Highly flexible, the AZ cylinder is available in profile tube or tie-rod versions, double acting, and with the option of through piston rod operation.
Users can specify single or double end air connections, and can select the position of these air connections.
Further options include non-rotating or guided versions, high-temperature versions (up to 150C), ATEX versions, and corrosion-resistant piston rods.
For use in the most aggressive environments, users can also specify metal scraper seals to keep any contaminants out of the cylinder.
