Rodless pneumatic drive has integrated guide

A Parker-Origa product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 22, 2008

Parker-Origa has developed a rodless pneumatic drive with an integrated guide, providing a compact, cost-effective, ready-to-run linear motion system.

The Basic Guide is integrated directly into the cylinder profile, and so cuts down considerably on the space required for assembling a conventional guide mechanism, and significantly reduces overall weight.

Direct integration also provides a highly durable system that is able to handle heavy loads.

The guide carriage of the Basic Guide is fitted precisely to the cylinder profile by means of four slide profiles.

The guide play is easily adjustable and can be readjusted at any time to ensure the guide carriage is always maintained in its ideal, correctly aligned position.

This ease of readjustment helps to eliminate (or compensate for) the wear that can occur under extreme loading conditions or in the event of one-sided uneven loading.

The Basic Guide uses composite plain bearings that are wear-resistant and durability-tested, and are already long-proven in the Slideline externally guided version.

The service life is also prolonged by an integrated wiper system and through ease of lubrication, using the integrated grease nipples.

Standard 5mm T-slot magnetic switches can be fitted directly to the profile tube, without projecting edges.

As with all Parker-Origa cylinders, the Basic Guide has adjustable end-position cushioning and magnetic pistons, and includes end caps that can be rotated through 90 degrees.

Parker-Origa's standard options are also available for the Basic Guide, including integrated directional control valves, single-side air connection, and Viton seals (for high speeds and temperatures).

There is a special version with stick/slip-free operation for slow-running applications.

A full range of accessories, including cover fastenings, intermediate supports and T-slot magnetic switches, completes the Basic Guide offering.
