The partnership between Houghton and Sanchem will provide customers with technical support and product availability across Europe.

Houghton Europe has signed an exclusive licence agreement with Sanchem of Chicago Illinois USA for the manufacture and sale in Europe of Sanchem's Chrome Free conversion coating systems Safeguard CC for use on aluminium.

Safeguard is designed to offer significant environmental and safety benefits which will reduce overall operating costs.

It is used in the aerospace, general fabrication, architectural and galvanising sectors.

The partnership between Houghton and Sanchem will provide customers with technical support and product availability across Europe, using the network of Houghton companies in 14 locations.

Houghton has recently appointed Kevin Proudlock as Product Manager for Surface Treatment bringing with him over 14 years experience in the sector.

Steve Mayo, Sales and Marketing Director Houghton stated "Our surface treatment business throughout Europe is growing, the combination of Kevin joining us and our agreement with Sanchem further strengthens our business in this area complementing our business in metalworking fluids and lubricants".
