Houghton supplies Hocut 3380 to Biomet

A Houghton UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 22, 2008

Houghton, a supplier of industrial production lubricants and fluid management services, has recently been awarded new business at Biomet in Bridgend.

Biomet manufactures orthopaedic joints and has been trialing Hocut 3380 since last August.

The product is reported to have passed all validation tests stipulated by Biomet and will now replace its old product, with orders being handled by one of Houghton's distributors, Chemical Corporation.

Hocut 3380 is a low-foaming milky emulsion that gives superior surface finish and tooling performance.

It can be used for machining automotive aluminium, titanium, inconel and alloy steels due to its non-staining characteristics.

It is designed for high-pressure coolant systems associated with modern CNC machine tools with ultra-long life and freedom from biocide additions, making it suitable for both centralised systems and single-sump machines.
