The Industrial Automation and Control business of Honeywell has signed a three-year plus, global alliance agreement with Conoco Inc.
valued at $20 million annually.
The alliance, which expands the existing business relationship between the two companies, calls for Honeywell to be Conoco's first-choice automation supplier, leveraging Honeywell's core competencies throughout all business segments.
The alliance represents the first global agreement signed by Conoco since its separation from DuPont in August 1999.
"Our objective is to substantially elevate our competitive position, which includes building cohesive relationships with leading service and technology suppliers such as Honeywell," said Richard Severance, Conoco's President of North American Refining, Marketing and Transportation.
"This global alliance will provide us with cost-effective, advanced solutions to attain this goal within our refining business." "We are delighted to be taking the next step toward advancing our already successful business relationship with Conoco," said Don Schwanz, President of Honeywell Industrial Control.
"Our joint mission is to produce business value that is best in class by maximising the synergies between our two world-class companies." Conoco will take advantage of Honeywell's entire portfolio of TotalPlant automation solutions, including Business Optimisation applications software and services.
Honeywell will support Conoco in its goal to globally expand its presence, with an emphasis on upstream and power business segments.
Conoco has been a longstanding customer of Honeywell and is a major user of Profit Suite, a unified family of state-of-the-art advanced control and optimisation applications from Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions.
