The contracts, won by the Honeywell Global Solutions Business team supported by Honeywell Egypt, cover the upgrade of the controls at the Abu Qir and Abu Sultan 600 Mwe power generation plants.
The scope of the contracts includes distributed control systems, emergency shutdown, burner management, field instrumentation, engineering, configuration, power generation applications, installation and commissioning.

The two EEA projects are financed by a grant from the U.S.
Agency for International Development (USAID) and are managed by PSSG Parsons.
USAID has provided an average of $815 million annually to Egypt.
Since 1979, this money has successfully provided the resources necessary to improve life all across Egypt.
The signing ceremony in Ismalia was attended by His Excellency Dr.Ali El-Seaidi, Minister of Electricity and Energy; Mr Daniel C.
Kurtzer, US Ambassador to Egypt; Mr Raouf Yousseff, Chief of the USAID Mission; and Mr T.
Mustafa Swedan, EEA Chairman.
Honeywell representatives present included Mr Giannantonio Ferrari, Honeywell Chief Operating Officer, Mr Lammert Hielema, Honeywell Middle East Vice President, Mr Gamal Edwar, Honeywell Egypt General Manager and Doug Frater, Honeywell General Manager Global Solutions Business.
