Manufacturers producing wastewater can benefit from a paperless recording and data acquisition solution from Honeywell Industrial Measurement and Control It meets the need for accurate regulatory reporting in wastewater treatment

Honeywell systems combining MiniTrend and MultiTrendPlus paperless recorders with data acquisition provide accurate operator information for efficient plant operation, out of limit alarming and automated regulatory reporting - and without the inconvenience of paper charts or manual data logging.

The efficient operation of a wastewater plant requires accurate and timely recording of flow, pH, residual chlorine, turbidity and tank/basin levels.

Traditionally, data have been taken manually and used for chemical injection and monitoring of plant operations as well as for regulatory reporting.

But manual collection is subject to individual operator interpretation and may not be taken at the same time each day.

In addition, such readings are cumbersome and time consuming.

Honeywell's solution eliminates all these problems by continuously recording accurate data electronically.

It is also paperless, so it also solves record storage problems and the need for the daily maintenance needed by paper recorders.

If required, Honeywell's MultiTrend Plus Recorder option allows circular paper chart recordings to be printed on demand.

In addition to those advantages, Honeywell's solution provides operators with an enhanced "view" of the plant.

It notifies them of alarms, which are logged automatically in the alarm history.

Instant, convenient access to accurate data also enables fast identification of event causes and effects.

Operators can view data clearly on a bright colour TFT display.

The MultiTrend Plus recorder has a 12in display, whereas the MiniTrend display is 5.5in.

Data storage is provided by a PCMCIA interface and a 1.44Mbyte floppy disk drive.

A 100Mbyte ZIP drive is also provided on the MultiTrend Plus.

Networking is via Ethernet or RS485, and they support Modbus, Trendbus, FTP and web e-mail protocols.
