Horner is now providing its new All-in-One Operator Control Station (OCS), with an Ethernet Smartstack module allowing its cost-effective multi-functionality to be used in the increasing number of Ethernet based applications which exist in Europe Horner's new OCS Operator Control Station range, which seamlessly integrates control, operator interface and network connection in a single compact, low-cost package has already brought new levels of functionality to countless applications based on DeviceNet, Modbus RTU slave or Horner's own CsCan networks

Richard Cooper, VP Horner Europe: "Ethernet is emerging as the network of choice in the US for industrial control applications.
Although it is not so dominant in Europe it represents a significant segment of the total OCS market.
The Ethernet Smartstack module addresses this market." Integrating hardware and software the OCS significantly eases design and implementation; because the system integrates important functions into a single, compact package, OEMs receive a seamless solution that lowers costs by greatly reducing wiring and programming and speeds time to market.
End users benefit from an easy-to-use control system that improves local and remote monitoring and that shares information with plant-wide networks.
Besides providing Ethernet connectivity the range of Smartstack modules provides the OCS with a wide range of analog and digital I/O modules.
Up to four SmartStack I/O modules can be stacked onto an OCS controller to provide up to 288 I/O.
Both the OCS 100 and 200 can control discrete I/O, analog I/O, thermocouple, resistive thermal devices (RTD), high-speed counter, stepper, and ASCII Basic.
