Horizon software simplifies materials testing

A Tinius Olsen product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 20, 2009

Tinius Olsen's Horizon software lets the user run a test and obtain results in just four mouse-clicks.

Horizon software is supplied as standard with test methods such as: tension, shear, compression, flex / bend, puncture / burst, tear, peel, melt flow, Charpy and Izod impact, friction, stiffness, heat distortion temperature, Vicat penetration and torsion.

These tests comply with international testing standards such as ISO, ASTM and EN.

Horizon lets the user use an existing test method as a template to be adapted.

Horizon software can run across the entire Tinius Olsen product-range, allowing: control and operation of multiple machines and measuring devices; consolidation of test data into reports from one PC, multiple PCs and across a network; and presentation of data in an array of standard formats, including ERP compatible.

Tinius Olsen machines are designed for use in research and quality control to measure a material's strength and performance.

Tinius Olsen equipment and Horizon software allow tests to be performed on raw materials and components such as metals, polymers, composites, concrete, textiles, rubbers, adhesives, medical devices and more.

Horizon is compatible with Windows XP and Vista.

Online support is available via Tinius Olsen's manned help-desk, where testing-software specialists help and support operator training.
