Ondrives offers a range of locknuts for bearings in low carbon steel The lock nuts comprise a nut and friction ring (special spring)

The friction ring is united to the top face of the nut by caulking.

A stress P is produced by the spring effect if the friction ring contacts a screw thread, the P and its reaction force P* press the screw threads strongly to produce a frictional torque (prevailing torque) preventing the turning of the screw, generating an excellent locking effect.

The nut body is low carbon steel and the locking insert is stainless steel to hardness HB 201-269.

The SS series is available as standard, SC (high carbon) and SUS (stainless steel) series are available on request.
