A wide variety of gas springs and accessories are offered by Ondrives from its 937-page mechanical drive components catalogue.

There are both push (standard) and pull (traction) types as well as lockable gas springs available.

They are designed for the industrial environment, and are maintenance free as well as self contained.

They are available with body diameters from 10 to 40mm and forces from 10 to 5000N.

They have an integral front grease chamber which provides a very low break away force, low friction and extremely long life compared with conventional gas springs.

This allows them to be mounted in any orientation, although rod downwards is preferable if the customer wants to take advantage of the built-in end position damping.

A wide variety of interchangeable end fittings makes installation easy and versatile.

They are universally applicable wherever the application has lifting and lowering.

They remove the need for "muscle power" and provide controlled motion for lids, hoods, machine guards etc.

The traction gas springs work in the pull direction and are available with body diameters of 19 and 28mm.

Lockable gas springs can be locked or unlocked anywhere through their stroke length.

They are available in rigid or "spring" locking versions with forces up to 1300N.

The lock release can be operated by a remote hydraulic push button or manually operated.

The gas springs provide maintenance free sealed for life system, being filled with high pressure nitrogen gas.

The oil zone filling provides end position damping and internal lubrication for a long lifetime.

Other typical applications include: support on horizontally hinged doors, direct support for sliding weights, tensioning and damping, machine guards, safety covers, access panels, hood supports, fire safety doors and smoke vents.
