Actuator for compact high-precision assemblies

An Ondrives/Rino Industries product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 21, 2007

Rino Industries is developing a novel design of linear actuator, to be known as the LA2.

Using valuable knowledge gained at sister company Ondrives in the production of the popular LA series of linear actuators, Rino Industries is developing an innovative new design of linear actuator, to be known as the LA2.

The new design uses very low profile linear slides, allowing for more compact high-precision assemblies with a stiffer design that allows higher loading.

There are a wide range of application possibilities, from x-y pick place machinery to scanners.

The standard LA2 features an overall height of only 18mm with a stroke of 69mm, although the design is easily modified to customer's requirements for different shapes and strokes.

The base and end plates are each machined from a single solid aluminium billet.

A small precision antibacklash leadscrew with a special dry lubricating PTFE type coating and a selection of various leads gives fine control on the amount of movement per revolution of the screw or high leads for speed.

The range will increase over the coming months using the same design concept so that customers will be able to benefit from an increased choice and range.
