Linear roller ways are rigid option
Ondrives offers a popular range of precision linear roller ways in its mechanical drive components catalogue.
Ondrives offers a popular range of precision linear roller ways in its mechanical drive components catalogue The range encompasses a roller retained unit with four rows of cylindrical rollers in nine different sizes and lengths ranging from just 80mm right up to 3000mm as standard, depending on the size of unit chosen

There are many advantages to using this type of unit in your application, and a few of these include high rigidity, a well-balanced structure, superior damping characteristics, high load capacity, smooth and quiet motion, long life and high accuracy and finally, lubrication and dust protection.
The rigidity of linear motion rolling guideways has a large influence on the performance of machines or equipment in which they are assembled.
High rigidity of these particular roller ways has been achieved by incorporating a large number of rollers which give a smaller amount of elastic deformation under load compared with balls.
Four rows of rollers are arranged in balance to take loads in any direction.
The load ratings in upward, downward and lateral directions are equal.
Also, this structure offers superior rigidity against a moment load, because the distance between the roller rows to take the moment load is made as large as possible.
As the rigidity of the linear roller way is high, deformation under repeated fluctuating loads is extremely small.
Furthermore, damping characteristic is also superior.
As the contact between the roller and the raceway is large compared with that between the ball and the raceway, the load capacity of roller type is larger than that of the ball type.
A large number of rollers are incorporated to achieve very high load and capacity.
As an epoch-making structure for the roller re-circulating path is adopted, a small and quiet motion can be achieved.
The raceways are finished by precision grinding, therefore high accuracy and long life can be obtained.
As the number of load carrying rollers is large, the minute deflection during operation can be minimised.
