Threaded spacers and pillars come in a variety of different combinations, materials, sizes and configurations.
Ondrives of Chesterfield has released a range of threaded and threadless spacers, available in nylon, brass or stainless steel All are designed to give clearance on metric bolts and special lengths can be accommodated

Female to female, male to female and male to male are all available in a range of sizes from M2.5 to M20 thread as standard.
