An Ondrives product story

Fasteners have the a number of advantages over the separate application of a traditional washer and nut.

Rino Industries has added a range of cold formed hexagon nuts into its latest mechanical drive components catalogue.

There are two types: barb nuts are cold formed hexagon nuts combined with external shakeproof washers; and carp nuts are the same except they are combined with conical spring washers.

Both fasteners have the a number of advantages over the separate application of a traditional washer and nut: a single operation instead of two, leading to half the labour cost; increased productivity; easier installation in difficult and confined spaces; and simpler stock keeping and inventory control.

The nuts are made from low carbon steel SAE1010 with a Rockwell hardness of C-30 maximum, and the washers are SAE1050-1065 and have a hardness within HRC40-46 maximum.

The washers are free to rotate on the nuts and each is available in either a yellow or white chromate finish.

Nonstandard sizes can be made to customer specifications where required.
