Lamps suit laser applications

A Heraeus Noblelight product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 14, 2007

One of Heraeus Noblelight's new lamps has been developed for high-precision laser applications which require a very stable light output.

Different laser applications require different characteristics from the pumping lamps.

This is why Heraeus Noblelight has developed two new lamp types that will be presented at Laser Munich.

The first lamp type has been developed for high-precision laser applications which require a very stable light output.

It is used in medical equipment manufacturing, for example in the fine drilling of hypodermic needles or stents.

The second type is a lamp that delivers very high power pulses over a long lifetime.

With 1kW average power and 100kW peak power, it is ideal for industrial high-power drilling, welding and cutting applications.

Even under harsh operating conditions with long pulses and low frequency, this lamp reaches a lifetime of up to 4 million shots.

At high frequencies and lower powers a lifetime of over 40 million shots has been achieved.

Heraeus Noblelight will exhibit the new lamp types on Laser Munich at booth B2.203.
