Hart upgrades wireless test system

The Hart Communication Foundation has announced Version 1.2 of its Wi-Htest wireless test system.
The system upgrade increases the number of available automated test scripts by 400 per cent, improving overall test coverage and technician productivity while testing Wirelesshart devices.
The wireless test system is designed to work with the Hart test system and the Wi-Analys network analyser to verify conformance of Wirelesshart devices.
The system upgrade includes new and updated automation scripts, updated menus, and updated Wi-Htest that adds support for virtual devices and improves performance.
'The wireless test system is critical to the development and compliance testing of Wirelesshart devices,' says Ed Ladd, Hart Communication Foundation director of technology programmes.
'Manufacturers must use this system to test a Wirelesshart device prior to submitting the device for Foundation registration,' he added.
The wireless test system is an integral part of the Hart Device Registration Program, in which the Foundation independently validates that the device and data submitted meets the protocol requirements.
The registration programme helps to ensure the interoperability of devices produced to the Hart standard regardless of the device manufacturer.
Testing and registration of a device ensures the quality of the Hart device and the interoperability of all devices that claim Hart compliance.
Devices that successfully pass the registration requirements are allowed to carry the Hart Registered mark.
