Hayward Tyler has received a major order from Shanghai Boiler Works, China's leading supplier of boilers to the Chinese power industry.

The order for two boiler startup recirculation pumps are to be used in the Wai Gao Qiao power plant in Shanghai.

Wai Gao Qiao is one of China's main regional coal-fired power stations with a 5000MW capacity.

The pumps, rated at 1100kW with 10kV motors, are the largest of this type ever supplied to China.

Gary Wearing, Group Managing Director of Hayward Tyler, commented: "This order represents a significant order for the business, it being the largest pump ever supplier by a British company to the Chinese power industry".

"It underlines the significant presence we already have in the market".

Hayward Tyler has been supplying boiler circulation pumps to China since 1986 and has been a major supplier of such pumps to Shanghai Boiler Works since 1992.

By the end of 2006 the company will have over 360 such pumps operating in China.

In 2005 the company established its own 1400m2 service workshop in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, China to provide after-market support for this substantial population of pumps.
