Hayward Tyler expands repair capabilities

A Hayward Tyler product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 7, 2006

Hayward Tyler Group has announced that its US division, Hayward Tyler, has expanded its South America presence by winning a major repair contract from a major power utility in Mexico

The USD 650,000 order is for the overhaul and repair service of a Boiler Water Circulating Pump (BWCP) which will allow the power plant to return to full capacity.

The order confirms Hayward Tyler's position as the market leader in Boiler Water Circulating Pump servicing in the Americas - the company continuing to grow market share by servicing not only Hayward Tyler BWCP's, but other manufacturers' BWCP equipment.

In 2006, in addition to servicing Hayward Tyler wet stator BWCP's, HTI was fortunate to have every make of fossil plant BWCP's in-house for service including KSB (Wet Stator), Westinghouse (Dry Stator), General Electric (Dry Stator), Ingersoll Rand (Wet Stator), Fuji (Wet Stator), and Torishima (Wet Stator).

Vince Conte, General Manager, at Hayward Tyler said: "A key challenge when repairing non Hayward Tyler BWCP's is the re-engineering of the components to upgrade the bearings, safety terminal glands and winding to a current OEM level for safety, high reliability, and long life design from previous designs of the 1960s and 1970s".
