Hayward Tyler has been contracted to supply two seawater lift pumps for a new ConocoPhillips platform off Indonesia in the Natuna Sea.

Located in the North Belut field, the platform will cost $500 million to build and requires the construction of a central processing platform (CPP), two wellhead platforms (WHP) and calls for 23km of 20in intrafield pipeline.

The CPP eight-legged jacket alone is expected to weigh around 5500t, with the total platform weighing up to 11,000t.

To cope with the dual demands of the environment and the anticipated production requirements of the platform, the two Hayward Tyler F1[9] six-stage pumps have been specifically built with NiAlBronze (nickel aluminium bronze) and installed with MBZ8-40 30kW motors that each have a flow of 10.7 litre/s at 3600rev/min.

These pumps will be located in 90m of water.

Gary Wearing, Managing Director at Hayward Tyler Group, said: "We are delighted to be contributing on this major new platform".

"In the past 12 months, Hayward Tyler has announced contract wins in North and South America, Europe, Middle East and China".

"We are proud to be extending our presence into South East Asia".

Hayward Tyler's partner in Indonesia for this project is PT Guna Pertiwi Cemberlang, with the contractor on the project beingTechnip and Nisconi.

The first stage of delivery is scheduled for July 2007, with the second stage due late 2008.
