A range of sanitary pumps designed to meet the rigorous requirements of the food manufacturing industry will be showcased by Hi-Tec Spray at Foodtech 2005.

A range of sanitary pumps designed to meet the rigorous requirements of the food manufacturing industry is being showcased by Hi-Tec Spray at Foodtech 2005, the annual food hygiene technology exhibition on 7th and 8th September in Telford, Shropshire.

Kent-based surface coatings technology firm Hi-Tec Spray already supplies highly specialised equipment to a range of blue-chip clients in the food manufacturing and processing market, including Jordan Cereals, Cadbury's and Grampian Country Pork.

In 2005 the company has been distributing a new range of Husky sanitary pumps on behalf of world-leading fluid handling equipment manufacturer Graco.

The pumps have all been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, which means they will have passed stringent tests on design, construction and performance.

A selection of this equipment will be demonstrated on Hi-Tec Spray's stand at the Telford International Centre.

The Husky Sanitary Series of pumps are designed to pass large solids and chunks with ease without damaging the product or clogging the pump.

They are available in two designs (ball and flapper) and are easily converted from one to the other with an optional kit.

An electronic leak detector system is fitted as standard in the top of the range model (the Husky 3150 3A) and is optional on the other two models in the range.

The Husky 3150 3A pump is designed to meet the stringent sanitation requirements of the milk and dairy industry.

Typical fluids handled include ice cream, milk, yoghurt and light viscosity cheese.

A lower cost option is the Husky FDA pump, which provides variable flow rates, it is self-priming and can run dry.

These pumps are ideal for handling concentrated fruit juices, tomato, wine, oils, corn syrup, jams, jellies, starch, sauces and pastes.
