Switchers boast near-unity power factor
HiTek Power has introduced the TEK PFC Series of low-voltage switch-mode power supplies in low-profile open-frame or fully enclosed configurations.
The supplies operate from a single-phase 230V mains input.
The grid and filament control module can provide an isolated filament current of up to 15A at 6V and a grid bias voltage of 1200V.
Rise and fall rimes of the grid bias output in switching mode are less than 1ms, with a maximum repetition rate of 1kHz.
An unusually full range of control and monitoring inputs and outputs includes filament current and voltage monitors and a grid voltage monitor.
The control module will withstand a 60kV arc to ground.
The driver units are ideal for continuous welding applications, due to their ability to sense and extinguish arcs in the gun/column assembly within milliseconds and recover in a controlled manner.
