Coaxial screw rail saves space and cuts costs
Huco's new, integrated lead screw and rail system - Kerk 'S' Rail - is a boon for designers looking for space savings.
For a production mechanism to deliver high precision, speed and quality, its components must be rigid.
However, in the event of torque overload this rigidity does not allow the ready absorption of forces.
Huco's new Safeguard Synchron torque limiters counteract this problem by isolating driving and driven forces in milliseconds and minimising damage, downtime and repair cost.
These safety couplings are extremely simple to use and suitable for torques ranging from 2.5 to 800Nms.
They provide overload protection in machine drives using sprockets, toothed or v-belt pulleys.
Slip torque is pre-set by adjustment of the spring force on the pressure plate and friction surfaces.
Re-engagement after overload is automatic after one revolution and the coupling returns to the originally set disengagement torque.
The range of Conex clamping elements provide keyless shaft-hub connections.
They eliminate play between the shaft and hub, channelling power transmission via a smaller area.
This allows shaft diameters to be smaller, saving space and material costs.
These connections are therefore particularly beneficial in heavy transmissions which are characterised by overload or continuous reversing.
They are also ideal where angular synchronisation is required.
Simple mounting and dismounting ensures quick changing of hubs fitted on the shaft; the high pressure between the contact surfaces helps avoid corrosion and allows quick removal of the hub even years after installation.
The Conex range is now available from Huco, including self-centring versions suitable for small and thin-walled hubs, without the need for keyways. Request a free brochure from Huco Dynatork ...
