In addition to its established designs, Huco will be introducing a brand new coupling concept at the Hanover Fair (on Stand D34, Hall 26).

Seen for the first time in Europe, this design breakthrough provides both high torsional stiffness and good radial flexibility, characteristics that were thought to be mutually exclusive in a one-piece plastic coupling - until now.

By employing new Step-Beam technology, Huco's new Torq-Link coupling combines the torsional stiffness of a straight beam coupling with the lateral flexibility of its helical counterpart.

Furthermore, Torq-Link has double the torque capacity of the equivalent helical beam coupling as well as far greater torsional stiffness.

A further benefit of this new addition to the range is that it is moulded and therefore able to be produced in large quantities to economic advantage.

Standard versions are made from a plastic capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 150C and other materials will be available for additional toughness.

Initially three of the most popular sizes have been introduced - 13, 19 and 25mm with standard bores of 3 to 12.7mm; other sizes will certainly follow.

All are supplied with clamp fixing or set screw; special size bores are also available.

The low inertia and high accuracy of this new coupling makes it ideal for driving encoders.

It is also a good choice for applications requiring electrical isolation and corrosion resistance.
