Wire stockist William Hughes of Dorset can now offer 177 precipitation hardened stainless spring wire from stock, originating from Swedish manufacturer Garphyttan

Those slightly unusual, difficult-to-source wire types have become something of a speciality for wire stockists William Hughes of Dorset who can now offer 177 precipitation hardened stainless spring wire from stock Originating from Swedish manufacturer Garphyttan, 177 PH has been specifically developed for applications demanding extra strength performance and offers considerable benefits over conventional 18/8 (3oz) steel

These include a better fatigue strength, a high level of corrosion resistance and a higher working temperature.

Excellent spring characteristics are combined with good dimensional stability after spring coiling and an elasticity comparable to high grade music wire.

177 PH stainless is available in large or small quantities on a 24 hour basis and can be supplied in coils, on carriers, spools or reels and in cut-lengths.

Both Garphyttan and William Hughes have Quality Management Systems in place certified to ISO 9002 whilst the wire itself conforms to American Standard AMS 5678, British Standard BS 2056 and German Standard DIM 17224.

William Hughes has been stocking and supplying wire for over 200 years and offers a full range of mild, stainless and spring steel as well as many non-ferrous types such as beryllium copper in very fine sizes.
