Battery puts more capacity in the same box

The new Perfect Plus batteries are ideal for all operations, particularly heavy duty, multi shift applications enabling truck uptime to be improved even further.
Capacities have been increased by around three per cent across the whole range.
This has been achieved by employing the very latest techniques in battery cell design and construction.
These include the use of advanced new components and materials to provide more efficient electrolytic reaction, and optimising the sizing of the negative and positive plates to the volume available in the battery box.
The process of filling the positive plates has also been improved.
With some models in the range Hawker has, for the first time, achieved increased capacity while actually reducing the height of the battery cells.
Hawker claims that the new Perfect Plus range is at the highest level of flooded-cell battery technology, offering very high levels of efficiency.
These improvements integrate the European harmonisation of DIN and BS ranges.
Perfect Plus is also available with an electrolyte mixing system, using low-rate airflow to create a circulating air stream within the cell box.
This prevents electrolyte stratification and optimises charging.
Charging times can be reduced by as much as 30 per cent, with energy savings of up to 20% compared with conventional systems.
The system is ideal for heavy-duty applications.
It provides more rapid battery availability for the same nominal charging current, due to the shorter charging time, thereby giving higher battery usage rates - especially important in multi-shift operations.
It also gives higher performance and longer battery life in heavy-duty operations where opportunity charging is common.
Maintenance intervals are longer, too, thus reducing maintenance costs.
