Information on the selection and use of platinum resistance temperature detectors (PRTDs) can be found on the new Heraeus Sensor-Nite website.

Information on the selection and use of platinum resistance temperature detectors (PRTDs) can be found on the new Heraeus Sensor-Nite website.

This will be of interest to all design engineers who have a need for high-quality low-cost temperature sensors particularly for high volume applications.

The site contains downloadable datasheets on the company's comprehensive range of thin film PRTDs together with basic information on PRTD technology and the associated Pt 100 standard to DIN EN60751.

There is also a section which compares the superior performance of PRTDs with alternative types of temperature sensors such as thermistors and semiconductor devices.

Several new products are highlighted on the web site including temperature sensors covering the range -196 to +850C, low cost temperature sensor subassemblies, microheaters and a combined heater/temperature sensor.
