Cable connectors have IP68 ingress protection

Hylec-APL has launched a range of quick-to-install waterproof cable connectors that are suitable for use in gardens, commercial buildings and public places with ponds and other water features.

The Weatherproof range includes cable connectors, plug and socket connectors and junction boxes, all with IP68 ingress protection.

The Weatherproof range consists of the Paguro IP68 junction box and the Teefamily range of connectors, which use the cable-sealing and retention capabilities of the latest IP68 cable glands combined with threaded connector bodies to provide a quick, waterproof connection without any external screwed clamps.

The Teetube, Teebox and Teeplug all provide ingress protection up to IP68 and offer two-, three-, and four-way cable-entry connections; including plug sockets and housing for terminals and small PCBs.

Some products are available in a transparent polycarbonate that allows the user to check the wire connections without having to disassemble the unit.

The Paguro junction box offers a different solution for applications that need waterproof connections.

These use a silicone gel filling to offer a second level of protection against any water of dust that may get through the connector's seal.

The sealing gel has a high elastic memory that allows the junction box to be reused and gives it a life span of over 10 years.

The smallest box in the Paguro range measures 45 x 95 x 24mm.
