Brunei Shell Petroleum has chosen Honeywell's Experion PKS Process Knowledge System for monitoring, control and safety shutdown operations at its Well Jacket-2 platform off the coast of Brunei.

Brunei Shell Petroleum has chosen Honeywell's Experion PKS Process Knowledge System for monitoring, control and safety shutdown operations at its Well Jacket-2 platform off the coast of Brunei, Darussalam The Experion PKS system is used in industrial plants and mills to control, monitor and integrate complex processes

Through the installation of the Experion PKS system, Brunei Shell Petroleum anticipates some cost savings on initial capital expenditure and subsequently the operational expenditure on the following years.

"Honeywell has demonstrated that they have the products, solutions, capabilities and resources to fulfil the project requirements.

We are convinced that Honeywell can execute and deliver the required solution for the project", said Leong Woon Choon, Project Manager for Brunei Shell.

The project will include Foundation fieldbus integration with Experion PKS, Honeywell's FSC fail safe controller safety system and integrated historical, financial, operational, and maintenance databases that will share information from multiple sites across Brunei Shell, using standard spreadsheets and reports.

Honeywell Asset Manager PKS predictive maintenance and diagnostics tools will make diagnostics and maintenance information from field devices and Experion PKS hardware devices easily available to Brunei Shell Petroleum - providing multiple maintenance and troubleshooting benefits.

The selection of Foundation fieldbus over conventional I/O systems provides added cost savings due to reduced equipment, system I/O and cable installation costs.

Additional benefits include improved yield, increased productivity.

Foundation fieldbus provides integration and interoperability of instrumentation from a wide variety of suppliers.
