Goldfire Innovator will enable GKN engineers to share technical knowledge across both internal engineering knowledge sources and external cross-disciplinary content sources.
GKN Aerospace has purchased Invention Machine's Goldfire Innovator, software that optimises and accelerates the innovation process.
Goldfire Innovator brings unprecedented simplicity, structure, discipline and predictability to the innovation process - spanning idea generation and new product development, the renovation of existing products and the improvement of production processes.
Under the agreement, GKN Aerospace, with more than 700 engineers worldwide, will deploy Goldfire Innovator to arm engineers with a better understanding of the competitive and technology landscape while helping product and manufacturing engineers clearly identify and state technical problems.
Goldfire Innovator will also enable GKN engineers to share technical knowledge across both internal engineering knowledge sources and external cross-disciplinary content sources.

Goldfire Innovator delivers, within a single desktop platform, comprehensive functions and content that aid in the innovation process including: proven problem-analysis tools and methodologies that guide users to solutions; semantic knowledge retrieval, providing fast, pinpoint access to relevant content; and access to worldwide patent databases and to over 8000 scientific effects and 2000 scientific websites.
