Image Management Technologies (IMT) has been retained to provide specialist marketing direction to Spectral Fusion Technologies (SFT).
Image Management Technologies (IMT) has been retained to provide specialist marketing direction to Spectral Fusion Technologies (SFT) to market the company's SpectraLine technology and find new users with different applications in new industries.
The SpectraLine technology is at the core of Spectral Fusion Technologies' world-leading x-ray sensor machine and software, named BoneScan, currently used for wet meat (eg chicken, pork, beef) and fish production sensing requirements, such as checking for bones in chicken fillets and nuggets.
SFT has built up a substantial direct market in the wet meat processing industry for the whole sensor system, and intends now to explore how that technology could be used in industries or applications other than just the food industry.
IMT will work with the potential OEM customers to identify methodologies which tailor the SpectraLine sensor to their application requirement.
This may include the use of different scintillator materials to optimize the sensor for different x-ray energies, as well as the development of specific x-ray inspection software algorithms.
Andy Marshall, Chief Operating Officer at Spectral Fusion Technologies, said: "We decided to work with IMT from a business development standpoint to enable us to take an 'arm's length' view that could be relied on, and look at our applications for each technology.
We found that using IMT to do this was not only cost-effective but has given us reliable, accurate information on a number of market sectors".
Nick Hewitson, Managing Director of IMT, added: "We are tied up deeply with our customer in this business situation not only are we providing marketing consultancy to Spectral Fusion, to expand the markets for the use of SpectraLine, but SFT is also a customer of IMT.
SFT's engineers have designed a Vision Components smart camera into one of their applications which was purchased via IMT.
This is about sharing market information and resources with our client, not just distributing products to a customer".
