An Image Management Technologies product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 5, 2002

Gideon Simon and Tony Cronshaw from PA Consulting Group have won first prize in a competition held at the recent IPOT and Machine Vision show.

Gideon Simon, a software engineer at PA Consulting Group, has won first prize in competition held at the recent IPOT and Machine Vision show.

They win a VC 2028 TMS320C6211 based smart camera and development software worth almost GBP 3000 from Image Management Technologies.

Colleagues Simon and Cronshaw had entered the competition via e-mail with an application for inspection of bottled beverages.

Cronshaw said: "We are all thrilled at this news and are already looking forward to evaluating and demonstrating a number of possible applications.

I would like to help maximise the awareness of this tremendously powerful, and yet compact technology.

I believe this has the potential to unlock automatic inspection applications where multiple cameras are required to achieve extremely high levels of inspection, including demanding applications in the food, beverages and pharmaceutical industries".

The new VC 2028 is a very low cost intelligent camera for industrial applications, manufactured by Vision Components.

The camera may be purchased via IMT, for delivery in the UK, at the manufacturer's actual list price, Eur1499.99 (GBP 940).

The smart camera is a complete image-processing system contained within one neat housing.
