A Japanese automotive manufacturer has placed an order for Icona Solutions' Aesthetica v2 software.
Icona Solutions, a developer of interactive manufacturing variation simulation and visualisation software, has announced that a leading Japanese automotive manufacturer has placed an order for its Aesthetica v2 software.
It will be used to save time and reduce costs in perceived quality studies early in the design process for new passenger vehicles.
The order follows the completion of pilot studies in which Aesthetica was used with live design and analysis data.
Icona Solutions' Aesthetica is leading-edge software for visualising the impact of manufacturing variation on product quality.
For the first time, engineers using Aesthetica are able to review, interactively, the effects of manufacturing variation on the appearance of a vehicle or sub-assembly, such as an instrument panel or bodywork.
The automotive company will use Aesthetica at its design centre to produce interactive visualisations of non-nominal products for design review and aesthetic assessment and to enhance its quality auditing processes during vehicle development.

The order was placed through Icona Solutions' exclusive UK reseller, Majenta Solutions, which worked closely with Icona throughout the project.
