Interface module enables efficient and reliable transfer of product model data from Dassault Systemes' Catia V5 CAD/CAM/CAE software environment directly into aesthetica.
Icona Solutions has developed a new aesthetica/Catia V5 interface module that enables the efficient and reliable transfer of product model data from Dassault Systemes' Catia V5 CAD/CAM/CAE software environment directly into the aesthetica environment, where it can be used in manufacturing variation studies.
The new module can be installed on standard Catia V5 configurations to provide users with additional export options from within the Catia V5 environment.
Using a new, lightweight file format it enables the export of complete product assemblies, including all 3D solid and surface geometry, directly into aesthetica Version 2.3 (and above), while preserving the Catia V5 product information, assembly structure and geometry.
"This new aesthetica interface module for Catia V5 answers our customers' needs for an integrated, fast and reliable mechanism for directly transferring product model data from Catia V5 to aesthetica without using third-party translators or alternative file formats", said Dr John Maxfield, Technical Director, Icona Solutions.
