A novel low cost sensor can be used to protect any pump against dry running.

IBJ Technology has developed a novel low cost sensor that can protect any pump against dry running The sensors can be produced as a low-cost inline retrofit for process pumps or as an OEM product for integration into new pumps

The ultrasonic sensors use the characteristics of Rayleigh waves in liquids and multiphase mixtures.

The new technology differs from existing techniques like time of flight or pulse technology by its independence from the transmission characteristics of the liquids.

The sensors are particularly well suited to solids-laden liquids, salt solutions and other suspensions.
