The key to providing this rapid service is Pirtek's fleet of over 350 mobile workshops, and 84 centres throughout the UK, all of which carry large stocks of Icore hoses.
Staffed by City and Guilds trained and experienced technicians, the mobile workshops are fitted with all of the equipment needed for the rapid production of hose assemblies.
Pirtek aims to have a mobile van at the customer's premises within one hour of receiving a request for service, and to have the hose assembly manufactured and fitted within two hours.
Icore products covered by the Pirtek service, which is available throughout mainland UK, include Crimptite hose with polyester or stainless-steel outer braid.
The special convoluted PTFE core used in this hose offers increased flexibility and resistance to kinking, while also being chemically inert, and resistant to almost all common chemicals, oils and solvents.
Crimptite hose has an operating temperature range of -54 to +204C, making it ideally suited for use in automotive, railway and similarly demanding applications.
Available bore sizes range from 0.375 to 2in, while maximum operating pressure, which depends on the hose type and size, ranges from 150 to 1500lb/in2.
