Sturdy, fire-resistant and completely halogen-free, the latest range of Kafon 2000 flexible conduit from Icore International offers excellent mechanical protection for cables in rail and other mass transit applications, where there is a risk of exposure to fire.

Kafon 2000 conduit is suitable for use over the exceptionally wide temperature range of -55 to +150C, and features a metallic outer braid with an optional sheath.

Kafon 2000 conduit, with a stainless-steel outer braid and an internal stainless-steel spiral, is available in eight sizes, having internal diameters from 12.4 to 50.5mm.

All sizes can be supplied in continuous lengths for self-assembly, or are offered factory-assembled with male and female connectors, swivel fittings and circular connector adapters chosen from Icore's extensive range of compatible products.

Kafon 2000's multilayer design makes it a particularly attractive choice for use in the rail industry.

The outer braid offers protection against flying ballast, while the inner spiral resists crushing and, therefore, enhances the protection provided for the cables within the conduit.

The Kafon material used for the elastomer core retains its flexibility, even at low temperatures, allowing the conduit to be used in applications where it is subject to high levels of vibration.

In addition, the materials used in the manufacture of Kafon 2000 conduit are approved to rail-industry standard NFF 16-101/102 for fire resistance and zero-halogen content.

Typical applications for Kafon 2000 products include providing effective protection for the wiring associated with braking systems, wheel slip detectors, track sensors, carriage-to-bogie links, intercarriage connections, and automatic coupling systems.
