A major expansion programme aims to make Icore's innovative high-current electrical connectors readily available to users in all principal world markets.

As part of a major expansion programme aimed at making its innovative high-current electrical connectors readily available to users in all principal world markets, Icore International has appointed Daito Electron Company as its distributor for Japan In addition, Icore is now using agents of Hypertronics, a sister company in the Smiths group, to provide sales and technical support to customers throughout the USA

In Japan, Daito Electron has sales offices in 16 key locations, including Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

The company is offering Icore International's complete range of connector products, including rack and panel connectors, power connectors for military, aerospace and transport applications, and busbar connectors.

Daito is also supplying the Japanese market with Icore's unique contact-band products.

Primarily intended for applications where users design and fabricate their own connectors, these products allow higher current ratings to be achieved for a given connector size, as well as reducing insertion force, and increasing reliability.

In the USA, Icore International products are now supplied and supported by: Trice Marketing Corporation of Irving, Texas; Mannix Technical Sales of Ashland, Massachusetts; and QREP of West Melbourne, Florida.

As with Daito, of Japan, these companies offer access to the full range of Icore electrical interconnect products.

"These new appointments are an important element in our growth strategy", said Greg Maden, Icore International's Product Manager for connectors.

"While we have already had substantial success in supplying our UK-manufactured products to export markets, we recognise that the key to further growth is to provide those markets with local access to products and support.

We are confident that our new partners will help us to achieve this in two of our most important overseas markets".
