Icore's lightweight and stainless-steel braided convoluted PTFE hoses are suitable for use with media, including oxygen, potable water, chemicals, fuel, hot oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid
In the unlikely event of the link being severed while in use, the sprung design ensures that the free ends take up a position away from the cars, which minimises the possibility of any hazard to passengers.
Standard versions of Icore's high-voltage jumpers are intended for use with rail cars which have a nominal spacing of 400mm, and they can accommodate changes in spacing from 230 to 680mm while the vehicle is in motion.
The jumpers can also be modified to suit specific applications.
The conductor elements and the springs used in Icore's jumpers are constructed to withstand continuous flexing, and to offer an exceptionally long service life.
A weather-resistant neoprene over-sheath is also incorporated to provide additional protection.
The jumpers are fast and simple to fit and, while they are designed to provide permanent connections between adjacent cars, they also allow fast disconnection when cars need to be unhitched.
The electrical characteristics of the jumpers are, in most cases, tailored to suit the user's individual requirements, but typical products have a contact resistance of less than 0.01ohm, and a current rating of around 450A.
The jumpers can also accommodate high surge currents - typically up to 45kA - and have an excellent short-circuit withstand capability.
