Contact band enables custom power
connectors
The latest Band 12 flexible contact band from Icore International greatly simplifies the design and production of cost-effective custom high-current connectors.
The latest Band 12 flexible contact band from Icore International greatly simplifies the design and production of cost-effective custom high-current connectors which combine low insertion force and high reliability with excellent fault current withstand ratings Fabricated from silver-plated beryllium copper, the contact band is inserted between the mating components of the connector, where its sprung construction and high conductivity ensure a consistently low contact resistance between the halves of the connector

PTFE hose resistance to over 230 substances listed
Icore's lightweight and stainless-steel braided convoluted PTFE hoses are suitable for use with media, including oxygen, potable water, chemicals, fuel, hot oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid
This allows high-current ratings to be achieved with smaller connectors and reduced heat generation.
Icore International's inexpensive Band 12 is fabricated from a single strip of metal, and features current bridges which are canted to give low wear and enhanced self-cleaning properties.
It is eminently suitable for industrial and commercial applications, and is supplied in 10m reels or precut lengths.
To ensure the best match with the widest possible range of applications, Icore International offers Band 12 contact band in both 0.15 and 0.20mm thick versions.
The 0.15mm version has a current rating of 12.5A/mm, whereas the 0.20mm version offers an enhanced current density of 15A/mm.
Corresponding 1s short-circuit ratings, for correctly designed connectors, are 0.43 and 0.48kA/mm, demonstrating that Band 12 is an ideal choice for use in motor control centres, switchboards, and similar applications where high prospective fault currents may be encountered.
For the most demanding military and aerospace applications, Icore International also offers Band 8 contact band.
This features two-part construction, with the current-carrying elements separate from the sprung components, and offer even higher current ratings in a given space.
Band 8 is also particularly suitable for use in connectors subject to continuous rotation.
