PTFE hoses supplied cut to length
Icore International has set up a new service to provide accurate cut-to-length PTFE hoses while meeting just in time requirements of large volume users and tier one suppliers.
Icore International has set up a new service to provide accurate cut-to-length PTFE hoses while meeting just in time (JIT) requirements of large volume users and tier one suppliers Supplying rigid hose cut to tightly toleranced lengths is commonplace, but providing the same service with convoluted PTFE hoses has defeated most hose suppliers

Icore's lightweight and stainless-steel braided convoluted PTFE hoses are suitable for use with media, including oxygen, potable water, chemicals, fuel, hot oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid
Icore has effectively overcome a problem besetting the industry by adapting the cutting process to create a new automated high volume cutting method.
Many users demand cut to length hose because it saves time and money, but convoluted PTFE hose is extremely difficult to cut accurately because depending on where the cut is to be made there can be a depression or a peak in the convoluted form.
This in turn creates problems for both location and mechanical handling in the cutting machine.

High current connectors in new publication
Icore International claims to have one of the widest ranges of specialised high-current connectors currently available in the UK.
Jaw clamping pressures must be lower than for standard rigid hose because deformation of the flexible product causes inaccuracy.
Moreover, the inner PTFE lining of the hose has a tendency to creep during the cutting process leading to further inaccuracy.
Icore's production engineering team has overcome all these problems.
With no practical limits on cut length, the new machine can handle all stainless-steel braided products in Icore's convoluted PTFE hose range, up to 1in (25.4mm) nominal bore, thanks to an induction heating process that fuses the ends of the braid prior to making the cut.
Not only does this guarantee a clean cut, but it also prevents the braid from fraying or unravelling, thereby reducing assembly time when fitting connectors.
As added assurance for customers, all cut hoses are inspected for quality at the machine.
Icore International can now supply multiple, precut hose lengths that are an exact match for the requirements of the user.
Pricing for cut length hose is particularly attractive for users requiring 10,000 or more pieces per year and by using Icore's service there is no costly scrap.
Typical applications include hose assemblies for specialist road vehicles.
A full range of hoses, supplied in bulk continuous lengths, complements Icore International's cut-length hose capability.
Icore International has unrivalled expertise in designing and supplying electrical interconnect and fluid transfer solutions for safety-critical applications and extreme operating environments.
It has a strong focus on addressing the special needs of the aerospace, transport and defence sectors.
