Purchasing and supply management plays an integral role in helping achieve organisational success and drive shareholder value.
By introducing, adapting and improving internal processes, Icore International has improved on-time delivery to customers and maintained and won strategically important long-term contracts.
By working closely with its suppliers and by improving internal interdepartmental processes Icore has implemented impressive changes - purchase orders are placed on suppliers within 24 hours from sales order input.
'It has been a pleasure to supply Icore International, as the changes have directly facilitated a much improved system of forward planning and stockholding', said Gavin Ardley from Icore supplier Saint-Gobain.
'The account has never run as smoothly as in the past two years and I believe that the improved purchasing relationship has assisted improvements across all departments'.
It did take a lot of hard work to drive the changes through, however, and they were gradually implemented over an 18 month period.
'I am very proud and thankful for all the hard work and effort everyone in our team has put into this', said Mark Hedges, procurement manager at Icore International.
'Of course, when undergoing major changes everyone in the supply chain is affected'.
'I'm very grateful for the support we have received - we would not be where we are today without the assistance from our customers and suppliers'.
