The latest Parker Stratoflex 170 range of PTFE hoses feature reinforcing braids made from tough, break-resistant steel wire.

Supplied in the UK by Icore International and eminently suited for use in situations where they will be subjected to prolonged high levels of vibration, the latest Parker Stratoflex 170 range of PTFE hoses from Parker Hannifin Corporation, Stratoflex Products Division, feature reinforcing braids made from tough, break-resistant steel wire.

Typical applications for the hoses, all of which meet or exceed the requirements of aerospace standard AS604, include high-pressure hydraulic systems in aircraft and missiles.

Icore supplies Parker Stratoflex 170 hoses in the form of complete assemblies which are fabricated to meet the user's exact requirements.

Parker Stratoflex 170 hoses are available from Icore in three versions.

The basic 170 hose comprises an extruded conductive aerospace PTFE tube with corrosion-resistant steel wire reinforcement, while the 170H/J version adds a fire-resistant silicone cover.

This form of integral fire sleeve construction produces a smaller envelope size than conventional slip-over fire sleeves, as well as ensuring complete freedom from wicking The 170K variant also uses the same construction as the basic 170 hose, but supplements this with an integral braided blue polyester cover which greatly enhances abrasion resistance.

All variants have unlimited shelf life, and are available with tube sizes from 0.25 to 1.0in.

Hoses in the 170 range have a working pressure of 208bar and are tested at twice this pressure.

The operating temperature range is -54 to +204C for type 170 and 170H/J hoses, and -54 to +135C for 170K products.
