Band 14 products allow material thickness and installation method to be exactly matched to the requirements of the application.

Icore International has released Band 14 products, making it easier to produce high-current connectors.

The new products combine excellent availability with very competitive pricing, and are offered in a wide variety of versions, allowing material thickness and installation method to be exactly matched to the requirements of the application.

Contact bands simplify the design of high-performance bespoke and application-specific connectors.

They are fitted between two mating metal surfaces, where their sprung construction, high conductivity, and large number of individual contact points ensure repeatable and consistently low contact resistance.

This reduces heat generation, allowing high current ratings to be combined with small connector size.

The new Band 14 products feature mechanically rugged louvered construction and are silver plated to minimise contact resistance.

Equally suitable for use in round pin-and-socket connectors and between flat mating surfaces, they are available in thicknesses of 0.20 and 0.50mm.

Other thicknesses are available to order, with thinner bands providing lower mating force and thicker bands higher current carrying capacity.

Band 14 products in all thicknesses are offered with a choice of leg type, providing users with a range of mounting and installation options.

The bands can be supplied in versions for insertion into plain or dovetail grooves, or for retention by separate spring rings.

To ensure maximum convenience and versatility, Icore offers Band 14 cut to length for use with flat products and ready formed into internal and external rings for use with circular or pin-and-socket type connectors.

In addition, the company offers a range of power connectors that incorporate contact bands, and is also willing to develop and produce customised designs.
