In-context visualisation aids design reviews
ICEM is pioneering real-time styling and engineering management reviews with an innovative suite of "in-context visualisation" tools.
ICEM customers from around the world attended the meetings, which included keynote presentations on ICEM's strategy for growth from Lee Cureton, Chief Executive and Tim Norman, Director of Field Operations, as well as a series of technical workshops, plus presentations from ICEM Surf users including Jaguar Cars, Ital Design, LDM Technologies, Skoda, Seat and the Fruenhofer Institute.
Countries represented included the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Japan and Australia.
"We were delighted at the response we received from our customers to these first user meetings since our independence", said Kate Mills, Global Marketing Director, ICEM.
"Not only were the meetings fully subscribed but the reaction from attendees was extremely positive.
We have already been asked to hold more meetings like these later this year, with customers offering their own company sites as the venues.
This is a measure of the demand that exists for the new software we are developing".
Both the US and European meetings were supported by a number of third-party suppliers to ICEM customers, with Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems and Barco sponsoring one or both of the events and with Minolta, Nvidia and the Fruenhofer Institute among those providing supporting demonstrations.
During the European conference, Fruenhofer Institute also presented the latest findings of its research, in a presentation entitled "Trends in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in design and styling".
