The shortlist of finalists for the Interior Motives Design Awards 2005, of which ICEM is a Gold Sponsor, has been selected by the automotive design competition's judging panel.

The five shortlisted finalists for the Best Conceptual Exterior Award category, which is sponsored by ICEM, are Eyal Cremer, Jonathan Tatum and Niklas Wejedal, all of whom are from the Umea Institute of Design in Sweden, Ivan Kouriatchi from Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building in Russia and Anthony Clark from Northumbria University in the UK.

Five finalists were also selected for each of the other awards categories, which are Best Innovation, Best Use of Technology, Best Production Interior, Best Conceptual Interior, Best Lifestyle Interior, Best Eco Design Concept and Best Production Exterior.

The judging panel for the Interior Motives Design Awards 2005, which attracted nearly 300 entries from 40 different countries and 51 different design colleges, comprises chief designers, design directors and senior executives from many of the world's leading automotive companies, including Chrysler Advanced Design, DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, Intier Automotive, Jaguar Cars, Johnson Controls, Nissan Design Europe, Renault, Stile Bertone and Volvo Cars.

The winner and runners-up in each of the categories will be announced at a special awards ceremony and reception to be held on Wednesday 14th September at the King Kamehameha Club in Frankfurt, Germany, during this year's IAA (Frankfurt Motor Show).

Kate Mills, Global Marketing Director, ICEM commented: "With their emphasis on and encouragement of young designers, the Interior Motives Design Awards reflect ICEM's view of the importance of the front-end conceptual design and styling process and our own efforts to integrate that process into the downstream design development processes through the recent announcement of our next-generation software suite, ICEM Shape Design".
